Windows patch
by René Schüler (comments: 0) Discontinued driver support Windows 11.
Windows Driver Discontinuation as of November 10, 2026
National Instruments, the manufacturer of our development environment, has identified a security issue with a driver. Windows will discontinue support for this driver in November. This also affects the version we use, LabVIEW® 2025. We have developed a patch that automatically installs the official fix from NI.
This patch can be downloaded via the eDM update (Update function) or obtained manually from our server.
Here is the link: https://www.biomed-jena.de/downloads/eupdate/nipalsys/Update_26.5.0.zip
If you find that the installed version is too old when updating via the eDM and it reports an error stating that port 21 cannot be opened, you can also use the offline updater.
The Offline Updater is available via the following link:
https://www.biomed-jena.de/downloads/eupdate/offline/BMJ_Offline_Updater.exe
Or, if you have an active internet connection, run the eUpdate directly:

Information about the security update can be found here:
CVE-2026-18485 – 7.8 – CVSS:3.1 AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
CVE-2026-18485 – 8.5 – CVSS:4.0 AV:L/AC:L/AT: N/PR:L/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N
The driver is not used directly by our software, and tests on our virtual machines showed no issues when disabling the driver.
